IBM Ring 58 – Winter Carnival of Magic
Parlor Contest 2025

Contest time: 12:30 – 3 PM. (Friday March 7th, 2025)
Maximum number of contestants = 15.
Suggested time is between 5 and 8 minutes.
The time limit is 9 minutes after 9 minutes you will be disqualified.

Before the contest we will set the order of the contestants. We will draw random numbers to set the 1,2,3…15 order.

Contest Scoring – Directions to Contestants

How the Scoring Sheets Will Be Used:

      1. The score sheets are used by the judges to determine quantitatively how each contestant performed. The actual scoring process will be reviewed prior to the beginning of the contest.
      2. In the event of a tie, the judges will be asked to determine the final ranking.
      3. The score sheets will be given to the contestants upon completion of the contest. Judges are asked to provide constructive feedback on each of the areas of performance.
      4. The judges will not be announced (or known) to the contestants and/or audience.
      5. The entry fee for the contest is $10 (cash or check only) per act and collected prior to the contest on Friday March 7th at 9:30 AM at the mandatory contestant meeting where we will go over the rules.
      6. The prize for 1st place is $500; 2nd Place is a trophy & People’s choice is $250… there is no monetary prize for 2nd place or lower.
      7. There must be at least five entries into the contest for a monetary prize to be awarded.
      8. If contestants don’t show up by 12:15pm EST on Friday March 7th, they will be disqualified & they will lose their $10 fee.
      9. If contestant fee of $10 (CASH ONLY or CHECK ONLY) is not paid by the 9:30 AM mandatory meeting on Friday, March 7 they will be disqualified.

      11. Eligibility Requirements: contestants must:
        1. Register for the convention. This must be a full, paid (Magician) registration.
        2. No paid performer is eligible to compete.
        3. No IBM Ring 58 member is eligible to compete.
